Marshfield’s wrestling team had a couple of duals with Skyline League teams Wednesday in Southern Oregon at Phoenix HS. The Pirates beat Henley 45-27 with wins by Garron Castro (106), Hadyn Widdicombe (113), Brody Cross (120), and Aryan Wright (175). Marshfield beat Klamath Union 48-22 with wins by Hadyn Widdicombe (113), Brody Cross (113), Reese Hite (132), and Ethan Flodd (138). North Bend traveled to Hidden Valley, south of Grants Pass, and beat the Mustangs 42-36. Bulldog wins by Connor Perez (126), Nicholas Campbell (132), Wyatt Smith (144), Jackson Swanson (150), Kaya Jones (285). Mazama beat North Bend 51-19. Bulldog wins by Nicholas Campbell (132), Jackson Swanson (144), Parker Pruett (150), and John Willett (157).

GBXB Polls
Bandon is No. 1 in this week’s 2A Girls’ OSAA/Coaches Weekly Prep Basketball Poll. The Tigers (18-2) have been trading with No. 2 Western Christian (19-1) in the earlier polls. Weston-McEwen (19-4) comes in at No. 3. The 3A OSAA State Girl’s Basketball Tournament will be held in the Bay Area Feb. 29 – March 2. The top-ranked 3A girls’ team is Corbett (17-0), followed by Amity (15-3), Sutherlin (18-1), Jefferson (17-1) and Banks (14-5) at No. 5. Coquille’s girls (18-2) are ranked No. 8.

The Pirates (11-7) follow No. 1 Baker (19-0), No. 2 Philomath (14-3), No. 3 Cascade (12-3), No. 4 Junction City (15-2), and No. 5 Marist Catholic (10-6). The 3A OSAA State Boys Basketball Tournament will be held in the Bay Area, Feb. 29 – March 2. The No. 1 3A team is Cascade Christian (14-5), No. 2 Valley Catholic (15-4), No. 3 Westside Christian (15-5), No. 4 De La Salle North Catholic (13-6), and No. 5 Pleasant Hill (15-3).
