Marshfield’s wrestling team won two-matches Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Pirate Palace, Coos Bay. The Pirates downed Hidden Valley 60-12 and then beat North Bend 78-6. North Bend beat Phoenix 53-18.

Bandon is No. 2 in this week’s OSAA/Coaches 2A Prep Basketball Poll. The Tigers (14-2) trail top-ranked Western Christian (13-1). Coquille (15-2) is No. 8 in this week’s 3A Poll. Corbett (14-0) is No. 1, followed by Sutherlin (15-1), Amity (13-3), Banks (12-4), and Vale (13-2). The OSAA 3A State Basketball Tournament is held in the Bay Area at Marshfield and North Bend on Feb. 29 – March 2. Tickets are on-line at OSAA.org.

Marshfield is No. 8 in the is week’s OSAA/Coaches 4A Prep Basketball Poll. The Pirates (10-5) trail top-ranked Baker (17-0), Cascade (9-2), Junction City (12-2), Philomath (11-3), Marist Catholic (9-5), No. Marion (11-4), and Seaside (8-4). Cascade Christian (10-5) tops the 3A Poll, followed by Valley Catholic (12-3), Westside Christian (12-4), Douglas (15-2) and Pleasant Hill (11-3). Like the girls, the 3A Boys’ Tournament is held in the Bay Area Feb. 29 – March 2.
