This week’s OSAA/Coach’s Prep Girl’s Basketball Polls: 3A – Coquille (13-1) is No. 5. Corbett (12-0) is No. 1, followed by Amity (10-2), Sutherlin (11-1), and Banks at No. 4. The OSAA State 3A Tournament will be held at Marshfield and North Bend high schools Feb. 29 – March 2. 2A – Bandon is No. 1 (10-2).

Prep girls’ basketball scores from Tuesday, Jan. 9: 3A – Harrisburg won at Siuslaw 58-13. Brookings-Harbor won at St. Mary’s 42-10. No score Coquille at Douglas. 2A – Bandon beat visiting Gold Beach 65-13. 1A – Pacific lost at Myrtle Pt. 60-35. Powers beat visiting Camas Valley 41-40.

North Bend Swim Team
NBHS release – The Swim Team had a home meet on Friday against Phoenix and Reedsport. The Boys’ Team took 1st with a total of 642 points and the Girl’s took 1st with a total of 510 points. The relay team of Abby Woodruff, Brynn Buskerud, Emma Slade, and Adrianna Delph took the win in the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Free Relay. The relay team of Alexis Pollin, Maryam Qadir, Wendy Quiroz, and Sophia Ryan took 1st in the 200 Free Relay. The relay team of Elijah Bowman, Finley Cheal, Brody Wilson, and Beau Parrott took 1st in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Elijah Bowman, Fernando Concha, Landon Takenaka-Gaul, and Beau Parrott took 2nd in the 200 Free Relay and the team of Landon Takenaka, Gaul, Beau Parrott, Brody Wilson, and Finley Cheal took 1st in the 400 Free Relay. Our girls also took 1st place in the 200 Freestyle, 200 IM, 100 Butterfly, 100 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke and 100 Breaststroke. The girls had an additional four 2nd place finishes and three 3rd place finishes. The boys’ team took 1st place in the 200 IM, 50 Free, 100 Butterfly, 100 Freestyle, 500 Free, and 100 Backstroke. The boys had an additional four 2nd places and five 3rd places. Congratulations to the Swim Team!
