Marshfield’s basketball teams split a District 4 league doubleheader Thursday night at the Pirate Palace, Coos Bay, with visiting Marist Catholic. The Lady Pirates (4-2, 11-10) won 40-35, to maintain a share of first place with Spartans (4-2, 10-9) but the Pirate boys (3-3, 12-8) fell 64-39 to the league leaders, Marist Catholic (5-1, 13-6). Marshfield has a non-league doubleheader with Westside Christian, Tigard, at home Friday, 1 & 3 p.m.

Marshfield will host the prep Regional Wrestling Tournament, Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Pirate Palace on the Coos Bay Campus. The tournament starts early with finals expected to begin around 4 p.m.

Prep District Swim Championships will be held at the North Bend Municipal Pool, Friday & Saturday, Feb. 9th & 10th. Marshfield will be competing along with the host Bulldogs.
State Cheer Championships
The OSAA State Cheer Championships are Friday, Feb. 9th & 10th at Oregon City HS. Both North Bend and Marshfield are ranked among contenders in the 4A division. Ninety-seven squads are expected to compete.
