No South Coast schools made this week’s OSAA/Coach’s Prep Softball Polls. Wilsonville (7-3) is the top-ranked 5A team, Marist Catholic (7-1) leads the 4A Poll with Cottage Grove (6-4) No. 7. South Umpqua (10-0) tops the 3A Poll and Grant Union/Prairie City (11-0) is No. 1 among the 2A/1A teams.

North Bend’s baseball team fell 9-2 in a 5A Midwestern League game at No. Eugene Wednesday. The Bulldogs (1-5, 7-6) are scheduled to play a doubleheader at Churchill Saturday.

Thurston defeated North Bend’s track teams in a pair of 5A Midwestern League dual meets Wednesday in east Springfield. The Colts won the boy’s meet 88-38, and took the girls’ meet 96-39. Individually, senior John Efraimson won the 100 (nt); junior Evan Hernandez took the 3000 (11:03.17); senior Trenton Parrot the 300IH (46.79); junior Keegan Young Javelin (156-1); Senior Keia Morris 100 (13.58) & 200 (28.70); junior Breanna Raven 800 (2:38.94); freshman Kaylianna Mazzucchi Javelin (96-8); sophomore Lennon Riddle Long Jump (14-9); freshman Drew Hood Triple Jump (32-5). North Bend next competes at the Prefontaine/Rotary Invitational at Marshfield Saturday.
