Marshfield’s baseball team was swept at Marist Catholic, Eugene, in a 4A District 4 doubleheader Thursday 9-1, 16-10. The Pirates (1-2, 5-7) are scheduled to play at Elmira on Tuesday, 5 p.m. North Bend is scheduled to play at Churchill, Eugene, Saturday, 1 & 3p, in a 5A Midwestern League doubleheader.

Marshfield’s softball team dropped two 4A District 4 games at Marist Catholic, Eugene, Thursday. The top-ranked Spartans won 17-1 & 10-0. The Lady Pirates (1-2, 5-8) are scheduled to play at Elmira Tuesday, 5 p.m. North Bend’s softball team is scheduled to play at Churchill Saturday, 1 & 3p, in a 5A Midwestern League doubleheader.
Prefontaine/Rotary Invite
The Prefontaine/Rotary Invitational Track Meet returns to Prefontaine Track at Marshfield High School Saturday with events beginning at 10a. More than 30-teams are expected to compete including the host Pirates, North Bend, Coos County schools, and others throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California.
