Both Marshfield and North Bend’s football teams will participate at the Junction City Jamboree Friday.

Marshfield’s volleyball team opened the 2022 prep season with a split Thursday in east Springfield. The Lady Pirates fell to Roseburg 3-2, but beat Thurston 3-1. Marshfield will host a jamboree in Coos Bay Friday and then host Churchill on Saturday, 2p. North Bend opened the season with a 3-0 sweep at Hidden Valley, south of Grants Pass Thursday. The Bulldogs will also play at the Marshfield Jamboree Friday.

Marshfield is ranked No. 5 and North Bend No. 6 in the first OSAA/Coach’s 4A volleyball poll for the 2022 prep season. Cascade is ranked No. 1, followed by Philomath, Sweet Home and Crook Co.

Both North Bend and Marshfield’s boys will open the 2022 prep soccer season at the Phoenix Jamboree, Friday, Aug. 26.
