North Bend finally got its makeup 4A District 4 baseball game in with visiting Cottage Grove Monday at Clyde Allen Field, but it wasn’t much of a game. The Bulldogs blew the Lions off the field 20-2 in five-inning handing Cottage Grove (2-1, 4-4) its first league loss. North Bend (3-1, 7-5) will host Marshfield (0-4, 5-9) Tuesday, 5 p.m.

Prep BB Polls
No coastal prep baseball teams made this week’s 4A OSAA/Coach’s Poll; however, in the 3A Poll, the school on the furthest North Coast, Warrenton (9-5) comes in at No. 9 and the team on the furthest point on the South Coast, Brookings-Harbor (9-6) comes in at No. 8. Neah-Kah-Nie (10-4) of Rockaway Beach, just north of Tillamook, shows up at No. 4. In the 4A, Newport (9-5) was among the “others receiving significant votes.” In the 2A/1A Poll, Reedsport (9-1) is No. 7, and Bandon/Pacific (8-4) is No. 8. Gold Beach (7-2) didn’t make the Top 10, but did receive “significant votes.”
