3A Girls BBX Showcase Tournament
Four 3A girls’ basketball teams will meet at Coos Bay Tuesday and Wednesday for a 3A Showcase at the Pirate Palace on the campus of Marshfield, Coos Bay. Sutherlin (4-1) and Santiam Christian (5-2) play at 5 p.m., followed by Corbett (8-0) and Oregon Episcopal (2-5) at 7 p.m. Winners & losers play each other Wednesday. The tourney is organized as a fund-raiser for the Lady Pirate basketball team.

Visiting Crater swept Marshfield in a pair of non-league prep basketball games at the Pirate Palace, Coos Bay, Monday. The Comet girls won 59-34, while the Crater boys took the Pirates 72-63. Marshfield’s boys (4-4) are off until the Stayton Tournament Dec. 28, 4:30 p.m., vs. Scappoose. The Lady Pirates (5-4) are scheduled to host Pleasant Hill, Thursday, Dec. 22, 5:30 p.m.

North Bend’s basketball teams host Coquille in a pair of non-league preseason games Tuesday. The Bulldogs girls go first at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity boys at 7 p.m.
