Marshfield’s boys dropped to No. 3 in this week’s OSAA/Coach’s 4A Prep Basketball Poll after the Pirates suffered their second loss of the season Friday to Henley. Junction City (12-2) takes over the top spot with Seaside (9-2) moving up to No. 2. After the Pirates (10-2) is Philomath (7-3) in No. 4 and Stayton (7-1) at No. 5. Henley (7-5) joined the Top 10 at No. 10. Bandon (11-3) is No. 8 in the 2A Poll.

Marshfield’s basketball teams swept visiting Bandon in a Coos Co. rivalry doubleheader Tuesday at the Pirate Palace, Coos Bay. The Lady Pirates (9-3) won their sixth-straight with a 39-32 decision. The boys (10-2) prevailed 57-39.
NBHS bxb
North Bend’s boys fell 76-38 at home to visiting Churchill in a 5A Midwestern League game. The Bulldogs (0-3, 2-9) are scheduled to play at Crater on Friday.
MHS vs. SHS
It’s the south vs. the north in an Oregon Coast matchup of two 4A basketball teams. Seaside and Marshfield will meet at Toledo HS on the Central Coast Wednesday in a pair of non-league varsity games. The girls will play first at 4:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 6 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on FM 105.1, KMHS and streamed at www.kmhsonline.com
