Marshfield visits North Bend in prep basketball tonight. The JV boys will play at 3 p.m., followed by the JV girls at 4:30 p.m., Varsity boys 6 p.m. and varsity girls at 7:30 p.m. The JV II boys’ teams will play at 7:30 p.m. at the Middle School.

Marshfield dropped one-notch in this week’s OSAA/Coach’s 4A Prep Basketball Poll. The Lady Pirates (12-5) coming off a home loss to No. 6 Marist Catholic (12-5) dropped to No. 5 this week. Baker (16-1) leads the rankings followed by Gladstone (15-3), Astoria (16-2) and Philomath (10-5) now at No. 4. Coquille (15-6) dropped out of the 3A Poll, and Bandon (18-3) is No. 5 in this week’s 2A Poll. The 3A State Basketball Tournament will be held March 2-4 in the Bay Area. The top 3A girls’ teams currently are: No. 1 Corbett (17-3); No. 2 Banks (18-1); No. 3 Sutherlin (19-2); No. 4 Amity (15-3); No. 5 Nyssa (16-4); No. 6 Lakeview (17-3); No. 7 Santiam Christian (15-4); No. 8 Pleasant Hill (16-1); No. 9 Westside Christian (15-7); and, No. 10 Valley Catholic (13-5).
