Marshfield lost its opening game at the 2022 OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union Boys Basketball Tournament at North Bend HS Thursday, 62-49 to Banks the No. 2 Seed out of the Cowapa League. The Pirates (22-5) fall into the consolation bracket and will face Stayton (18-6) Friday morning, 10:45 a.m. Stayton lost to Cascade 66-41, setting up a championship semi-final game between Banks (20-6) and Cascade (20-3) 3:15 p.m., at Marshfield HS. The top part of the eight-team bracket had Junction City downing Baker 58-47 and Seaside coming from 20 down to beat Philomath 62-61. Seaside (20-6) and Junction City (23-3) will play in the championship semi-finals at 1:30 p.m. at Marshfield. Baker (19-7) and Philomath (19-6) will play at 9 a.m. in the other consolation semi-final. The championship game will be played Saturday 5:45 p.m.

No. 1 Philomath advanced to the championship semi-finals at the 2022 OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union Girls Basketball Tournament at Marshfield HS Thursday with a 58-30 win over Mazama. The Warriors (20-4) will play Hidden Valley (15-10), a 41-34 winner over Marist Catholic, Friday, 6:30 p.m. In the bottom half of the eight-team bracket, No. 2 seed Cascade fell 69-60 to Madras in overtime, while Corbett downed Baker 61-46. Corbett (22-3) and Madras (16-8) will play in the other championship semi-final at 8:15 p.m. at Marshfield HS. Consolation semi-finals will be held at North Bend HS beginning at 9 a.m. between Marist Catholic (16-8) & Mazama (16-9), and 10:45 a.m. between Baker (10-6) & Cascade (19-4). The championship game will be played Saturday 8:30 p.m. at Marshfield HS.
