The OSAA 3A State Basketball Tournaments got underway Thursday at North Bend High School and Marshfield High School. The boy’s quarter-finals at NBHS were 30-point wins in three of the four games. No. 1 Westside Christian downed No. 9 Pleasant Hill 81-51; No. 4 Cascade Christian 66-36 over No. 12 Umatilla; No. 2 De La Salle North Catholic beat No. 7 Oregon Episcopal 76-47. The close game was No. 3 Dayton over No. 6 Vale 55-50. Consolation semi-finals Friday at Marshfield have Umatilla vs. Pleasant Hill at 8 a.m., followed by Oregon Episcopal vs. Vale at 9:45 a.m. Championship semi-finals begin at noon with Cascade Christian & Westside Christian, followed by Dayton vs. De La Salle North Catholic at 1:45 p.m. The girl’s quarter-finals were played at Marshfield. No. 16 Oregon Episcopal beat No. 9 Creswell 39-32; No. 4 Burns over No. 5 Santiam Christian 47-43; No. 3 Sutherlin defeated No. 6 Amity 64-31 and No. 2 Nyssa over No. 10 Brookings-Harbor 51-27. Consolation play Friday at North Bend has Creswell vs. Santiam Christian at 9 a.m., followed by Brookings-Harbor vs. Amity at 10:45 a.m. Championship semi-finals at Marshfield has Oregon Episcopal and Burns at 4:15 p.m., followed by Sutherlin vs. Nyssa at 6 p.m.

Marshfield’s boys will take on Corbett Thursday, 8:30 p.m. in an OSAA 4A Basketball Playoff Game at the Pirate Palace, Coos Bay. The winner advances to the OSAA 4A State Championships March 10 at North Bend HS. The game will be broadcast live on FM 105.1 KMHS, streamed at www.kmhsonline.com.

Marshfield’s girls take on Baker at Baker City Saturday, 4p, in an OSAA 4A Basketball Playoff Game. The winner advances to the OSAA State Championships March 10th, Marshfield HS, Coos Bay. The Lady Pirates’ game with the Bulldogs will be broadcast live on FM 105.1, KMHS, and on the OSAA Radio Network.
