Marshfield’s boys are tied with Cascade for second place after the first day of the District Golf Championships at Tokatee. Marist Catholic leads after the first day with 325, followed by Marshfield and Cascade tied at 345, Woodburn follows in fourth at 356. Marshfield’s girls are in third place following the first day at Bandon Crossings. St. Mary’s leads with 363, followed by Marist Catholic 376 & Marshfield at 453.

Two South Coast teams were listed in this week’s OSAA/Coach’s Baseball Poll. Brookings-Harbor (13-6) is No. 5 in the 3A Poll, and Bandon (12-5) is No. 10 in the 2A/1A Poll.

Marshfield’s softball team split a 4A District 4 doubleheader at Southwestern Oregon Monday. The visiting Falcons won the opener 6-2, but the Lady Pirates took the second game 16-2. Marshfield (8-4, 12-10) is in second place in the league race and is scheduled to play at Junction City today, 5p. North Bend’s game against Thurston Monday was cancelled.

Marshfield’s home baseball doubleheader with Elmira Monday was postponed due to a wet field. The Pirates are scheduled to play at Junction City Tuesday, 5p. North Bend is scheduled to host North Eugene on Tuesday, 3 & 5p, at Clyde Allen Field.
