Prep SB Polls
Marshfield’s softball team was among those “Receiving Significant Votes” in this week’s OSAA/Coach’s 4A Prep Softball Poll. The Lady Pirates (12-11) are currently in second place in the District 4 League race. Marist Catholic (19-1) is ranked first. Also from the South Coast, Brookings-Harbor (16-3) is tied for No. 9 in the 3A Poll topped by South Umpqua (18-0).

Marshfield swept visiting Elmira 6-4 & 6-5 in a 4A District 4 baseball doubleheader at Coos Bay Wednesday. The second-place Pirates (10-3, 14-8) have two-games remaining Friday against Siuslaw (4-9, 9-14) at Florence. Marist Catholic (11-2, 15-7) is in first place and will finish with a doubleheader at Elmira (5-8, 10-12). Junction City (9-4, 14-8) is in third and finishes with two at Cottage Grove (0-13, 2-21).
