Marshfield’s softball team swept a pair of 4A District 4 league games at Cottage Grove, 10-0 & 18-1 Wednesday. The Lady Pirates won both games in five-innings. Freshman Tatum Montiel had a two-run homer to highlight the team’s offense. Marshfield (7-3, 11-9) is scheduled to play at Elmira on Friday.

North Bend’s track team dominated its own Bulldog Last Chance Meet Wednesday on Frank Shriver Track. Senior John Efraimson won the 100 (11.35). Bulldog sophomore Gavin Schmidt won the 1500 (4:44.84), senior Trenton Parrot the 100HH (19.00), 300IH (44.64), and Pole Vault (12-0), the team of Nathaniel Folsom, Efraimson, Brody Justice & Jason Padgett won the 4X100 Relay (43.53), while the team of Connor Macbeth, Craig Edera, Daniel Jackson & Andrew Efraimson won the 4X400 Relay (4:18.53). Macbeth, a freshman, also won the Triple Jump (35-7.25), Senior Roman Fritz won the Shot Put (40-10.25) & Javelin (167-8), sophomore Sam Mickelson the Discus (123-10). Marshfield’s senior Cael Church took the 400 (53.21), sophomore Dae Dae Bolley the Long Jump (18-5), and freshman Quinton Kloster the High Jump (5-0). North Bend’s senior Keia Morris won the 100 (13.36), sophomore Ayla Riddle the 400 (1:08.24), junior Sara Slade won the 1500 (5:43.83), sophomore Lennon Riddle the 300H (54.39), freshman Drew Hood the Javelin (98-9) & Triple Jump (33-8.5), freshman Emma Slade the High Jump (4-6), sophomore Roxy Day the Pole Vault (8-6), and Lennon Riddle the Long Jump (14-7). Marshfield sophomore Daphne Scriven won both the Shot Put (32-8) & Discus (112-7). Next up for North Bend is the 5A Midwestern League District Championships May 12th at Eagle Pt. Marshfield has the 4A District 4 District Championships May 13 at Junction City.
