Wally Ciochetti Track Invitational
North Bend’s girls were second at the 15-team Wally Ciochetti Invitational Track Meet Friday at Cottage Grove. Philomath won with 85-points, while the Bulldogs tallied 77.5. Bandon was third with 71, Siuslaw 9th (41) and Marshfield 10th (22.5). Crook Co. won the boy’s race with 127-points. Henley took second (108.7), Siuslaw fourth (65), Marshfield fifth (55.5), North Bend 11th (18.6) and Bandon 13th (6). Individually, North Bend’s Ellie Massey won the 1500. The sophomore was timed in 4:56.52. Bandon senior Analise Miller took the 3000 (11:23.91). North Bend junior Drew Hood won the 100H (16.49) with Bandon senior Makiah Vierck second (16.85). Bandon freshman Giada Moore won the 300H (48.04). Marshfield won the boy’s 4X100R (Joe Herbert, Quinton Kloster, Carter McGriff, Bodey Lutes) 43.07 (2nd best in 4A) in a match-up with Crook Co. The Cowboys were timed in 43.12, third best time in 4A. Madras holds the top time at 42.85 this season. The Pirates also took the 4X400R (Herbert, Kloster, Chandler Wyatt, Lutes) 3:25.80. Marshfield senior Daphne Scriven won the Discus (118-9). Bandon sophomore Caitlyn Michalek won the Javelin (121-7) and North Bend’s Drew Hood was second (119.8). Marshfield seniors Danner Wilson & John Parks swept the Pole Vault, both clearing 14-6. North Bend’s Drew Hood also won the Triple Jump (34-4.5). The Bulldogs Wyatt Smith was second in the Javelin (169-9) fifth best in 4A. The 4A District 4 Championships will be Friday & Saturday at North Bend.
