Marshfield’s football team clinched the 4A District 4 Championship Friday night at Pete Susick Stadium, Coos Bay with a 48-41 win over visiting Marist Catholic. The Pirates (4-0, 11-0) will host a First Round OSAA game Friday, Nov. 5 against Madras (4-4). North Bend lost its final regular season game to visiting Thurston 60-0 Friday at Vic Adams Field. The Bulldogs end the regular season with a 5A Midwestern League record of 2-5 and 2-6 overall.

Marshfield’s volleyball team fell 3-2 in the 4A OSAA Round of 16 Saturday at Baker in Eastern Oregon. The Bulldogs won the first two sets, but the Lady Pirates (12-7) battled back winning the next two to force a fifth set. Baker won 15-10. North Bend advanced to the 5A quarter-finals with a 3-0 First Round win Saturday at home over St. Helens. The Bulldogs (21-1) will host Wilsonville (19-4) on Tuesday.

Marshfield’s boys will host Hidden Valley of Grants Pass Wednesday in the OSAA First Round of the 4A State Soccer Playoffs at Coos Bay.
