The first OSAA/Coach’s Wrestling Poll is out for the 2021/22 prep season. Coquille is No. 4 in the 2A/1A Poll and Reedsport is No.9. Siuslaw is No. 7 in the 4A Poll.

Behind senior quarterback Dom Montiel, the Marshfield Pirates football team completed an unbeaten season Saturday night at Cottage Grove HS by beating league rival Marist Catholic 49-34 to capture the OSAA 4A State Championship. The Pirates first since 1992 when head coach John Lemmons was a senior running back for MHS in a win over Ashland. Montiel has led the State all season with his passing and put on another show at Don King Field against the Spartans. He completed 28 of 44 passes for a career-high 439 yards and five touchdowns. Montiel also ran for a career-best 121 yards and one TD on 17 carries. Marshfield (15-0) finished with 608 total yards to Marist Catholic’s 373. Montiel finishes his senior season with 238 completed passes in 348 attempts, 3,667 yards and 50 touchdowns. It was a South Coast Day at Cottage Grove. Siuslaw (12-0) opened the OSAA triple-header with a 14-9 win over South Umpqua in the 3A Championship game, and Coquille (10-1) won the 2A title 38-28 over Kennedy. The Red Devils first State Football Championship since 1970.
