Marshfield (5-4) heads to Milwaukie to play La Salle Prep (8-1) Friday in an OSAA 4A State football Playoff game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. In 3A Round 1 Friday: Siuslaw (5-4) is at Dayton (9-0), 7 p.m. In 2A Round 1 Saturday: Bandon/Pacific (6-3) at Heppner (7-2), 1 p.m. Gold Beach (7-2) hosts Blanchet Catholic (6-3) (Salem), Friday at 7 p.m. In 1A8 & 1A6 both Myrtle Pt. and Powers are already seeded and will play on Nov. 10th.

Both Bay Area prep volleyball teams are at the OSAA 4A State Tournament, Springfield HS, with side-by-side opening matches Friday afternoon, 1:15 p.m. On Court 1 – Marshfield (25-3) will take on The Dalles (14-8), while on Court 2 – North Bend (17-6) plays Cascade (19-3). The winners meet in the semi-final round at 8:30 p.m., while the losers drop into the consolation semi-finals Saturday morning, 10 a.m.

The OSAA State Cross-Country Championships are Saturday, Nov. 4, at Lane Community College, Eugene. Marshfield has one individual entry in sophomore Jaxson Stovall, while North Bend’s girls advance to the championships as a team.

North Bend’s girls (10-4-1) play at Scappoose (14-1) Saturday, 2 p.m. in an OSAA 4A State Soccer quarter-final match.
