Marshfield (5-1) is ranked No. 7 in this week’s OSAA/Coach’s 4A Football Poll. The Pirates follow top-ranked Mazama (6-0), No. 2 Pendleton/Nixyaawii (5-1), No. 3 Estacada (5-1), No. 4 Henley (6-0) and also at No. 4 Marist Catholic (5-1).

Marshfield’s volleyball team clinched the 4A District 4 Championship Wednesday with a 3-0 win at Marist Catholic, Eugene. The Lady Pirates (7-0, 15-3) have one match remaining in the regular season next Tuesday at home to second-place North Bend (5-2, 11-6). Marist Catholic (4-3, 8-5) is third.

Both Bay Area prep cross-country teams ran at the Cinnamon Roll Run at Buffington Park, Port Orford Wednesday. No results were available, but both squads are scheduled to run at the Country Fair Run at Veneta, Saturday, Oct. 15.
