Both Marshfield and North Bend picked up prep volleyball wins Tuesday night. The Bulldogs were at home in a “play-in” round and downed Astoria 3-1. Marshfield was on the road to Cottage Grove and defeated 2A Gaston 3-0 in a non-playoff match. OSAA First Round matchups are all set for Saturday, Oct. 29. La Grande (6-14) will visit top-ranked Marshfield (20-3), and North Bend (12-9) will travel to Mazama (14-7) of Klamath Falls.

The OSAA prep soccer rankings froze Tuesday night and Marshfield’s boys and girls and North Bend’s girls all made post season play. The Pirate boys (4-6-3) will host Cascade (6-6-2), while the Lady Pirates (7-5-2) host St. Helens (5-5-4) and the Bulldogs (6-5-2) host Cascade (5-8). Matches have to be played by Saturday, Oct. 29.
Prep SC Polls
Marshfield’s girls (7-5-2) are ranked No. 10 in the final OSAA/Coach’s 4A Prep Soccer Poll. Marist Catholic (13-1) is top-ranked, followed by Gladstone (12-1), North Marion (9-2-1), Philomath (10-2) and Scappoose (11-1-1) at No. 5.
