Crater won the boy’s 5A Midwestern League Cross-Country Championship at Valley of the Rogue State Park in Southern Oregon Wednesday. North Bend was seventh on the 5K course. Junior Aidin Wilson led the Bulldogs in 22nd (18:21.01). Junior Nathaniel Folsom followed in 32nd (19:26.23); junior Brandon Stinson 34th (19:33.40); senior Derek Bell 36th (19:52.69); and junior Benjamin Swank 38th (19:56.06). Ashland won the girl’s portion with North Bend sixth. Junior Sara Slade led the Bulldogs in 14th (21:26.26); freshman Emma Slade 22nd (22:24.85); sophomore Abby Woodruff 28th (23:26.56); freshman Clara Messner 30th (23:44.71); and sophomore Maryam Qadir 39th (25:12.98). Marshfield’s cross-country team runs in the 4A District 4 Championships, Lane CC at Eugene Thursday, noon.
