In an OSAA Endowment game at Thurston HS Thursday, Marshfield downed Crook Co. 3-0 in a non-conference prep volleyball match. The Lady Pirates (6-1) are scheduled to host Sweet Home in a home opener Tuesday, Sept. 5. North Bend improved to 3-0 with a 3-0 win over visiting Newport Thursday. The Bulldogs (3-0) are scheduled to play at Douglas Tuesday, Sept. 5, 5:30 p.m.

Marshfield’s girls traveled to Southern Oregon Thursday and beat Phoenix 2-1 in a non-conference soccer match. The Lady Pirates (1-0) are scheduled to play at Klamath Union on Friday, noon. North Bend’s girls will be at KU on Saturday for a noon match. Marshfield’s boys are scheduled to play at KU on Friday, Sept. 1, 2 p.m. and North Bend’s boys will play the Pelicans at noon Saturday in the Klamath Basin.

North Bend’s football team opened the 2023 prep season with a 30-28 win at Crater in Central Point Thursday. The Bulldogs (1-0) are scheduled to host Willamette, Friday, Sept. 8, 7 p.m., Vic Adams Field.
