North Bend’s volleyball team downed Newport 3-0 on the road Thursday in a non-league prep match. The Bulldogs (2-1) are scheduled to play Douglas next Tuesday at home.

North Bend’s girls beat visiting Cascade 2-0 in a prep soccer match at Vic Adams Field Thursday. The Lady Bulldogs (1-0) are scheduled to host Klamath Union Saturday, 2p. North Bend’s boys lost their home opener to visiting Cascade 1-0 Thursday. The Bulldogs (0-1) are scheduled to host Klamath Union, noon, Saturday.

Marshfield’s cross-country teams host the Marshfield Invitational, Friday, 10a, Millicoma Trails, Eastside.

Marshfield’s boys take on Klamath Union in a soccer match Friday, noon, North Bend High School. The Lady Pirates soccer team takes on KU Friday, 1p, at MHS. Marshfield’s girls bettered visiting Phoenix 3-2 Thursday at Pete Susick Stadium. The Lady Pirates (1-0) will host Klamath Union Friday, 1 p.m. Marshfield’s boys will play the Pelicans at North Bend, Saturday, noon.

The 2022 Prep Football Season is upon us! Both North Bend and Marshfield are at home to “kick-off” the season. The Bulldogs will host Crater from Central Point, while the Pirates host Tillamook. Both varsity contests begin at 7p. The North Bend – Crater JV football game has been moved from Southern Oregon to the Coast due to smoke. Kick-off is slated for 3:30p at Vic Adams Field. Marshfield and Tillamook’s JV’s kick-off at 4p.

Prep football polls are out from the OSAA/Coach’s for the opening week. Myrtle Pt. is No. 7 in the 1A (8-man) Poll; Powers is No. 2 in the 1A (6-man) Poll. Bandon/Pacific is No. 3 in the 2A Poll. Siuslaw is No. 4 in the 3A Poll, while Coquille is among “others receiving significant votes.”
