No. 2 Marist Catholic downed No. 1 Marshfield 3-2 in a District 4 prep volleyball match at Eugene Tuesday. The Spartans (3-0, 12-1) prevailed 25-23, 18-25, 25-16, 19-25, & 15-13. Marshfield (15-3, 2-1) will next host No. 3 North Bend (2-1, 11-2) on Thursday. The Bulldogs had a bye Tuesday. In 3A – Visting Pleasant Hill beat Siuslaw 3-0 at Florence and Coquille fell 3-1 at St. Mary’s Medford. In 2A – Gold Beach won at Oakland 3-0, Bandon beat visiting Illinois Valley 3-0, no score Waldport at Reedsport. In 1A – Myrtle Pt. downed visiting New Hope Christian 3-0, Powers lost to visiting Umpqua Valley Christian 3-0, and no score Glendale at Pacific.

In prep soccer matches Tuesday: 3A/2A/1A Girls – Brookings-Harbor lost at St. Mary’s Medford 1-0 and Cascade Christian beat visiting Coquille/Myrtle Pt. 6-1. 3A/2A/1A Boys – Pacific/Bandon won at Sutherlin 2-0, Coquille/Myrtle Pt. beat visiting Gold Beach 6-1 and no score on Brookings-Harbor at Illinois Valley.
