Marshfield picked up its first win of the 2017 prep volleyball season with a 3-0 win over Gladstone at Junction City Tuesday. The Lady Pirates won 25-22, 25-8, 25-16. Earlier, Marshfield lost to Hidden Valley, also at JC, 3-1 (26-28, 26-24, 25-17, 25-13. The Pirates (1-2) play at Cottage Grove on Thursday. Also out of the Far West League, Douglas (1-0) beat Elmira 3-1, Bandon downed Brookings-Harbor (0-1) 3-2, Sutherlin blanked So. Umpqua (1-1) 3-0.
