A good night for the Bay Area’s two prep volleyball teams in District 4 play Tuesday. League leader Marshfield opened the second half of the league season with a 3-0 win at Junction City, while North Bend was at home and entertained Marist Catholic. The Bulldogs won 3-1 to move into a share of second-place with the Spartans (3-2, 7-4). North Bend (3-2, 9-6) is scheduled to host JC on Thursday, while the Pirates (5-0, 13-2) host Cottage Grove.

North Bend and Marshfield’s girls tied 1-1 their District 4 soccer match at Vic Adams Field in North Bend Tuesday. The Lady Pirates (2-1, 5-3-1) are scheduled to play at Junction City on Thursday, while the Bulldogs (1-1-1, 3-4-1) are scheduled to host league leader Marist Catholic (4-0, 9-1). Marshfield’s boys beat North Bend 4-3 Tuesday also at Vic Adams Field. The Pirates (1-0-2, 1-5-) are scheduled to play at Junction City Thursday, North Bend (0-3, 1-6-1) host first-place Marist Catholic (3-0-1, 4-5-1) Thursday.
