Marshfield junior Alexander Garcia-Silver won the 1A/2A/3A/4A division at Saturday’s Northwest Classic Cross-Country Meet at Lane Community College in Eugene. Garcia-Silver toured the 5K course in 15:54.98. Senior Jacob Calvert was 24th (18:01.49), freshman Elijah Cellura was 39th (18:37.78), sophomore Corbin Reeves 68th (19:39.46), & junior Jack Waddington came 81st (20:11.56). Marshfield was sixth as a team with 184-points, Siuslaw won with 59-points. Senior Bailey Wallack led the Pirate girls with a 21st place finish (21:44.99), Junior Sara Weatherly 87th (25:21.23), junior Elizabeth Delgado 96th (25:48.62) & sophomore Jenna Erickson 139th (31:52.94). Siuslaw won with 68-points while Philomath was second with 71. North Bend ran in the 5A division. Junior Aidin Wilson was 79th (18:27.44), junior Gavin Schmidt 90th (19:10.30), sophomore Tiago Schrader 97th (19:23.62), junior Nathaniel Folsom 110th (19:52.34), & junior Evan Hernandez 125th (20:57.51). The Bulldogs placed 17th (466). Sheldon won with 73-points. North Bend’s girls were 17th (447), Summit of Bend won with 22-points. Freshman Emma Slade led North Bend in 86th (23:23.53), sophomore Abby Woodruff 97th (23:57.38), freshman Clara Messner 104th (24:57.66), junior Rose Hadley 120th (28:00.28) and junior Emma Stroud 122nd (34:03.54). Both Marshfield & North Bend are scheduled to run at the Harvest Festival Saturday, Sept. 25.
