More than 16,000 mail-in-ballots were returned to the Coos Co. Elections Dept. for Tuesday’s Primary Election according to figures released by the County. Democrat Peter DeFazio (86.93%) & Republican Art Robinson (40.81%) will meet this Fall in the Fourth District Congressional District. Democrat Kate Brown (64.96%) and Republican Sam Carpenter (39.77%) led the Governor’s race locally. Governor Brown will face Knute Buehler (37.73% Coos Co.) in the Fall. State Representative: Democrat Caddy McKeown (77.85%) & Republican Teri Grier (98.12%). Commissioner Bureau of Labor & Industries: Val Hoyle (41.69%) & Lou Ogden (40.60%). Hoyle wins the statewide race. Co. Commissioner Pos. 2 John Sweet (46.33%) & Katy Eymann (28.27%); Commissioner Pos. 3 Melissa Cribben (55.47%) & Natalie Ranker (24.14%). Measure 6-167 Yes (64.01%).
