Garden Valley Rd. & Hwy. 42, CCSO release – On January 16th, 2019 at 0923 hours, a Deputy with the Coos County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Garden Valley and Highway 42, Coquille, Coos County, Oregon for multiple traffic infractions. A narcotics detection K9 was called to the traffic stop. The narcotics K9 alerted to the vehicle and a search was conducted. Narcotic paraphernalia was located on the passenger side of the vehicle where 36 year old Sarah Latimer was seated. A can of pepper spray was also located on the floor board on the passenger’s seat near the narcotics. Sarah’s Probation Officer was contacted and a detainer was authorized. Sarah was taken into custody and lodged in the Coos County jasil without incident. Sarah was charged with Probation Violation and Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon. The narcotic paraphernalia was sent to the Oregon State Police Forensic Lab for controlled substance analysis. Sarah will be referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s Office for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
