Former Oregon quarterback Joey Harrington was larger than life when a poster of him was unveiled in New York City during his days with the Ducks promoting the Oregon football team. The City of Newport has taken a similar approach with the unveiling of a 90-foot tall banner showing the Yaquina Head Lighthouse in the Rose City of Portland. The poster went up in February at Fourth and Oak in the heart of the city. The idea and funding came through the Destination Newport Committee, a city-funded steering group charged with finding creative ways to promote the Central Coast community.
