News release CCSO. On December 1, 2017, at about 1557 hours, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the camping area at Riley Ranch County Park. Upon finding the vehicle an investigation was conducted as to who the owner was and where they had gone as the location where the vehicle parked and the circumstances around it were suspicious. It was learned a female had parked the vehicle and had left with a male in an SUV. A check of the park was conducted and the vehicle was located in the day use area at Riley Ranch County Park. There was a male, identified as 30-year old Nathan S., Bandon, and a female identified as 31-year old Sonya H., North Bend, inside of the vehicle. The investigation revealed that an agreement had been made between them to engage in a sex act together in exchange for a sum of money to be exchanged from them. Consequently, Nathan was cited and released for Patronizing a Prostitute (Commercial Sexual Solicitation), a misdemeanor. Sonya was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail for Prostitution a felony. Sonja was later released from the Coos County Jail on a citation to appear.
