The Oregon State Marine Board received a petition from a boater requesting that the Board open rulemaking to amend statewide rule, OAR 250-010-0053 Safety Inspections. The petitioner sites excessive noise from boats with unmuffled internal combustion engines operating on the Willamette River between river miles 95-100 and seeks to open rulemaking to amend the statewide Safety Inspection rule to include required equipment as part of a safety inspection.
