A 4.4-magnitude earthquake occurred early Monday morning, Aug. 17, where two fault lines come together after running parallel with the Oregon Coast. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was recorded at 12:58 a.m. and was located 118-miles west of Tofino, Canada in the Northern Pacific Ocean.
