A 3.0-magnitude earthquake shook the Cape Mendocino area of Northern California Friday night, Jan. 10, where two fault lines enter the Pacific Ocean and eventually turn north to run parallel with the Oregon Coast. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred at 9:15 p.m., 39-miles south to southwest of Eureka, CA.
