The outer fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast was rocked by a 5.4-magnitude earthquake Wednesday, July 17 off the South Oregon Coast.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located west of Bandon at a depth of 10 kilometers.  A smaller 2.7-magnitude quake was recorded in the same area the day prior.  A 3.4-magnitude quake was also recorded early Thursday morning at the southern end of the two fault lines near Cape Mendocino in Northern California.  According to the Survey, the quake was located west of Petrolia, CA.
