A 3.1 magnitude earthquake shook the Pacific Ocean seafloor off of Coos Bay Thursday morning, Jan. 16. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred at 7:38 a.m., 89-miles west to northwest of the Bay Area within one of the two fault lines that runs parallel with the Oregon Coast.
