Quakes, April 14

A large 6.0-magnitude earthquake shook the upper end of the outer fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located Thursday southwest of Port McNeill, off Vancouver Island in Canada. A little closer to home, a 2.9-magnitude quake was recorded early Friday morning west of Coos Co., also on the outer fault.
