A 3.2-magnitude earthquake occurred near shore on the South Oregon Coast early Monday morning, Dec. 5.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located 16km north to northwest of Bandon.  Also this past weekend, a 3.0-magnitude earthquake shook the Cape Mendocino area of Northern California Friday, Dec. 2.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located west to northwest of Ferndale, CA near where two fault lines begin that run parallel with the Oregon Coast.  On Saturday, a second quake struck the same area.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 2.9-magnitude quake was located west to southwest of Ferndale, CA.
