The southern end of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast lit up early Saturday morning, Dec. 7, with three quakes near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.5-magnitude quake was located south to southwest of Petrolia, CA. A 3.0-magnitude quake was also recorded west to northwest of Petrolia, CA. The third was a 3.2-magnitude quake north to northwest of Redway, CA.
