The two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast were active on Friday, Feb. 9. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 2.7-magnitude quake was recorded on the outer fault line west of Port Orford in Curry Co., and a 4.1-magnitude quake was located right at the junction of the two fault lines, west to southwest of Petrolia, CA, near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. Early Sunday morning, a 2.6-magnitude quake was recorded northwest of Petrolia, CA.
