A 2.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded on the inner fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon just north of the southern end Friday, Feb. 24. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located west of Big Lagoon, CA. On Saturday, Feb. 25, a 3.0-magnitude quake was recorded off the South Oregon Coast on the outer fault line, and a 2.9-magntiude was also recorded at the southern junction, west of Petrolia, CA near Cape Mendocino in Northern California.
