A couple of earthquakes shook the southern end of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast Friday, Feb. 2. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.9-magnitude quake occurred west of Petrolia, CA, and a 3.4-magnitude followed, both near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. On Saturday, a 4.0-magnitude quake shook the southern junction. According to the USGS, the quake was located west to southwest of Ferndale, CA.
