A couple of earthquakes were recorded near the southern junction of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast, Saturday, Jan. 21. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 2.9-magnitude quake was located on the outer fault line west of Ferndale, CA, and a 2.6-magnitude was located just south of the junction, west of Cape Vizcaino, CA, both near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. On Sunday, Jan. 22, two more quakes were recorded at the southern junction. According to the USGS, a 3.3-magnitude was recorded west to southwest of Ferndale, Ca, and a 2.8-magnitude followed west of Petrolia, CA.
