The southern end of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast was rocking on Wednesday, Jan. 5. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.6-magntude earthquake was recorded west of Petrolia, CA, followed by a 2.8-magntude south to southwest of Ferndale, CA, a 2.8-magnitude west of Petrolia, CA, and 3.0-magnitude west to southwest of Petrolia, CA all near Cape Mendocino in Northern California.
