A couple of significant earthquakes shook the Pacific Ocean seafloor west of the South Coast on Tuesday, July 5. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.3-magnitude quake was recorded at 4:39 p.m. and was located near the Blanco Fracture Zone, 240.5-miles west of Coos Bay. The other quake was a magnitude 3.1, it occurred earlier at 7:23 a.m. and was located 122.4-miles west of Coos Bay.
