A 3.8-magnitude earthquake shook the Pacific Ocean seafloor west of Cape Mendocino in Northern California Friday morning, Jan. 8. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred at 8:43 a.m., and was located 149-miles west of Eureka, CA within one of the two fault lines that runs parallel with the Oregon Coast. A 2.8-magnitude quake followed on Sunday morning, Jan. 10, 5:05 a.m., at the junction where the two fault lines begin near Cape Mendocino. That was followed by two more quakes in the same area Sunday, a 2.9 at 6:06 a.m. and a 2.6 at 6:14 a.m.
