The last couple of days have been a wild ride for the seismographs along the South Oregon Coast. The first ping was a 2.6-magnitude earthquake Friday, July 28, 2023west of Langlois in Northern Curry County on the outer fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The ping got louder on Saturday, July 29, within the same area on the outer fault with a 4.4-magnitude quake. The USGS also reports a couple of quakes between the two fault lines. A 2.8-magnitude west of Port Orford and a 2.9-magnitude also west of Port Orford.
