News release: Oregonians Rally at State Land Board Meeting to Shut Down Jordan Cove. Groups from across the state urge State Land Board to end Jordan Cove proposal now by denying Department of State Land permits. When: Tuesday June 14, 2016 at 10:00 to Noon. Why: Southern Oregon rural landowners and allies concerned about the proposed Jordan Cove LNG project will hold a rally and press conference outside of the State Land Board meeting on June 14 to urge elected officials to do what is right for our communities and our waterways by denying permits needed for this project. Landowners and concerned citizens have fought this project for over a decade and it is time to put it to rest. The State Land Board should follow in the footsteps of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission who denied the certificate needed for this project in March. Details: Oregonians will arrive at the Department of State Lands building at 10:00 AM to attend the State Land Board meeting. Landowners hope to confront State Land Board members Governor Brown, Secretary Adkins, and Treasurer Wheeler during their regularly scheduled meeting. After the meeting, around noon, a rally and press conference will be held outside the building’s main entrance. The rally will include singing by the Raging Grannies, speeches from landowners and concerned southern Oregonians, large banners and art.
